The PSSD community network service ecosystem: designing a sustainable relational infrastructure for professional transition and global alumni engagement

International master's communities often fade after graduation; this thesis explores how service design can sustain them within the Product-Service System Design (PSSD) programme at Politecnico di Milano. A mixed-methods study (survey, interviews, co-design) identifies the transition to professional life as a critical moment for belonging. The result is the PSSD Community Network, a service ecosystem built on three pillars — Career Orientation, Alumni International Network, and Community Infrastructure — reframing alumni engagement as a reciprocal, community-led model, piloted through PSSD Exploring, Alumni Stories, Global Circles, and the Global Ambassador Programme.
